DriverSavers Now Offering a Tool for Customer Data Recovery From Locked iOS Devices 2019

DriveSavers has just announced that it has a new tool that will make it possible to access a locked iOS device, even if the password has been forgotten, is generally unknown, or the device owner has died.

DriveSavers makes it perfectly clear that this is not just a tool to be used by strangers that find a locked device, but rather a tool to “gain access to the photos, videos and other memories”, whether it be your own phone, or a device that was owned by a deceased family member. The company says it will continuously verify ownership “during all phases of the recovery process”, and it will not be offering this tool to federal or law enforcement agencies.

“How do we verify the owner of a device? We understand that there may be no perfect solution to this issue. However, we attempt to validate the legal right to access the data during all phases of the recovery process. This starts with the information gathered during the intake process. We also have a legal authorization form requiring specific information identifying the right to the data.

Our recovery engineers will note discrepancies between the intake information and the data on the device and notify the appropriate manager. Our Customer Service Department will follow up on any discrepancies and address these with the customer before we provide any data.”

As far as how it works, the details are light. The company does say it can access a passcode-locked iOS device, but also that extends to Android, Windows, and BlackBerry as well. Samsung devices, Apple, Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi, LG, ZTE, and Oppo are also name-dropped in the official announcement. It’s possible that DriveSavers is using a tool to guess the passcode on a specific device, but that’s unconfirmed at this point.

DriveSavers is also not freely publicizing its pricing plan, and says that if customers are interested in the passcode unlocking service they will need to get in touch with the company directly, which you can find information to do just that through the source link below.

This type of service has typically been held off specifically for law enforcement agencies and federal entities. Tools like Grayshift’s “GrayKey” have made it possible for those agencies to access locked devices in the past. However, it was recently reported that with the distribution of iOS 12, even that tool’s access to iOS devices was blocked off.

How to See or Search History on iPhone

Option #1: Check Settings


It is possible to find your browsing history right on your iPhone’s settings. Here’s how to do that;

You may also be able to find some of your history in either the notes recently deleted folder or the photos recently deleted folder. The “Recently Deleted” folder holds all of the Notes or Photos that you have deleted in the past 30 days. If you can locate them in the “Recently Deleted” folder, you have a chance to get them back. Here’s how to recover data from a “Recently Deleted” folder (we are using photos as an example.)


Step 1: Launch the “Photos App” on your iPhone or iPad.


Step 2: Tap on “Albums” located at the bottom right of the screen


Step 3: Tap on “Recently Deleted”


Step 4: To select a number of photos to recover, tap “Select” at the top of the screen and then tap on each photo that you want to recover.


Step 5: Tap “Recover” on the bottom right of the screen and then confirm that you want to recover the photos you have selected.





You can do the same with your recently deleted notes as well. But it is equally as important to remember to back up your data to make it easier to come back to the history when you need them.
